Hakomi & Parts Work

Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy is a gentle, body-centered approach that uses mindfulness to access core patterns held below conscious awareness. Rather than analyzing from the outside, Hakomi invites you to slow down and listen inward—following the cues of your body, emotions, and nervous system. This present-moment attunement creates space for meaningful insight, deeper self-connection, and authentic healing from the inside out

In tandem with Hakomi, I incorporate parts work, inspired by Internal Family Systems (IFS).  Parts work holds a perspective in which we each have a constellation of inner parts—roles we’ve taken on over time, shaped by experience and emotion. Some parts aim to protect, others push for achievement, while some quietly bear pain we’ve had to carry alone. These inner dynamics often operate beneath the surface, influencing how we feel, relate, and respond.

Somatic

Somatic psychology is a specialized field that examines the intricate connection between the body and the mind. It focuses on how the body stores and expresses emotional experiences, highlighting the significance of physical sensations, movements, and posture in shaping our mental and emotional well-being. Somatic psychology utilizes techniques that enhance individuals' awareness of their bodily sensations, using this awareness to address emotional challenges and trauma. By recognizing the body as integral to the self, somatic psychology offers profound avenues for psychological healing and personal growth.

Transpersonal

A Transpersonal lens supports the exploration of going beyond traditional cognitive realms, acknowledging the spiritual, emotional, & relational dimensions of the human experience. It recognizes that our sense of self is not limited to individuality but also includes our interconnectedness with the world around us.

At its core, Transpersonal psychology is about the individual’s subjective experience. Transpersonal psychology focuses on the holistic development promoting personal growth, self-discovery, and the exploration of higher states of consciousness. It draws from diverse spiritual traditions, along with modern psychology, to help people understand their individual identity, connecting them to larger, more meaningful aspects of life.

Liberation Focused

Liberation-Focused Therapy recognizes that personal struggles don’t exist in a vacuum—they’re deeply shaped by the social, cultural, and systemic forces around us. Drawing from systems theory and feminist frameworks, this approach explores how power, identity, privilege, and oppression intersect with your lived experience.

Rather than pathologizing your pain, we look at how your responses may be intelligent adaptations to unjust conditions. Together, we create space for empowerment, reclamation, and healing—not just as an individual journey, but as part of a broader collective movement toward justice, dignity, and wholeness.

Plant Medicine & Psychedelics

Expanded states of consciousness—whether accessed through plant medicine or man made entheogens—can offer powerful opportunities for healing. These experiences may open pathways to deep emotional release, spiritual connection, and perspectives that are otherwise difficult to reach in ordinary awareness.

Approached with care, intention, and skilled integration, psychedelic healing can help you reconnect with your inner wisdom, release long-held burdens, and rediscover a deeper sense of purpose and possibility.

Experiential

Experiential psychology, also known as humanistic-existential psychology, places a profound emphasis on the personal, subjective experience as the cornerstone of understanding human behavior. It delves into individuals' immediate, present-moment experiences, including their emotions, thoughts, sensations, and perceptions. Experiential psychology highlights personal responsibility, self-awareness, and self-actualization, viewing each person as inherently capable of directing their own growth and development. This approach often incorporates experiential techniques such as role-playing, guided imagery, and expressive arts to help individuals explore and gain insight into their inner experiences.
